On the morning of February 4th, Sia issued an apology on twitter for her upcoming film Music, and for her response to criticism she received from the autistic community. There has been no shortage of controversy surrounding the film, which follows the story of a former drug-dealer taking custody of her non-verbal, autistic sister after the death of their mother. In today’s world, there is more entertainment available for consumption than ever before. Creatives are able to tell stories to audiences of thousands — sometimes even millions — of people. For example, the 2011 NBA finals is an entertaining series of basketball games to watch as is, but it becomes significantly more interesting when told as the story of a sick Dirk Nowitzki single handedly beating a stacked Miami Heat team…

Traditionally, red is often seen as a color that represents love, passion and affection, which is why it is often used in romance movies. However, those are not the only emotions that are frequently conveyed in films through the color red. Since the earliest moving picture, the animation industry has gone through incredible developments and evolution, constantly pushing the boundaries of technology. Especially in the 25 years since the release of Toy Story — the first feature length CGI film- animation has become an immensely powerful tool and, at times, frighteningly realistic. This 3D animation style seems like an unbelievable development from the Saturday morning cartoons of the 60s and 70s. …

During the current quarantine period, many people have had their share of difficulties with working from home. Whether it’s poor connection to meetings, family running through webcams, or being just plain unproductive there always seems to be something getting in the way of having a successful workday. However, not too long ago I had run into the biggest roadblock that anyone can face when working from home. A storm had hit my state of New Jersey and I lost power in my home when it disabled many cable wires in my neighborhood. Losing your connection to the internet and your…

Why are people so obsessed with watching other people eat and how did this trend come to be?

In recent years, these videos, which are called Mukbangs- pronounced “Mook-bong”-, have been gaining popularity and have developed into a trend where people film themselves consuming a wide…

Going to the movies is a hallmark tradition for dates, hangouts, and any rainy day of the year. Getting everyone in the car on time so you don’t miss the previews, sending someone out to get snacks for everyone, being first in line so you can get good seats for opening night are just some of the things you keep in mind when on your way to the movies. Let’s be honest, the best thing about going to the movies is the snacks. That satisfying crunch from the buttery popcorn, to the perfectly sweet M&Ms, movie theater snacks enhance the overall cinematic experience. While we have grown accustomed to enjoying the typical assortment of snacks: nachos, popcorn, pretzels, etc., other countries around the world seem to have their own take on things. Here are a few examples of what movie theaters around the world offer their visitors in terms of snacks!

I received an AncestryDNA kit for Christmas. Having an Omani father whose ancestors came from India and a Kuwaiti mother with an Iranian heritage I was excited to see the true results- little did I know, I was going to find out A LOT more.

Quarantine has created a unique situation for people across the world, where they are stuck inside and looking for fun activities to keep them busy. However, when they eventually run out of canvases to paint or yarn to crochet they wind up right back in front of the television.
